Marqués de Cáceres, Tempranillo
In 1970 Enrique Forner founded the Marqués de Cáceres company and created a historic alliance with the city of Cenicero, located in the La Rioja Alta region. The first wine of the Forner family was produced in 1975. The company has been dedicating itself to successful wines for five generations now, focusing on constant quality, investment in technologies and continuous innovation to try to get the best wines from all over the Spanish region. The Marqués de Cáceres company, which is present in more than 130 countries, offers its consumers a contemporary wine that can be tasted and shared with friends but which remains synonymous with tradition.
Tempranillo is Spain's most famous red grape variety. Thanks to its early ripening and a rather short vegetative cycle, it has adapted well to the cool areas of northern Spain. In particular in the Rioja region it produces some of the best reds in Spain both vinified alone and together with garnacha. The grape is also widespread in Portugal under the name of tinta roriz, especially in the Douro and Alentejo regions. In Italy it is cultivated in Lazio and Tuscany, where it is known by the name of malvasia nera. The wine has a great structure, rich, quite alcoholic, with an important tannic texture and moderate acidity.
