Ca' del Bosco
Ca 'del Bosco is the winemaking reality that in Franciacorta interprets the passion and the dream of creating sparkling wines by looking at the famous wine history of the Champagne region. The first attempt to enhance the moraine area located south of Lake Iseo through the production of unique and highly authentic wines comes from an intuition of Maurizio Zanella. A region that has seen the resourcefulness of the peasantry rewarded and that in the first adaptations of the etymology 'franchae curtes' recalls the ancient liberation from paying local taxes. The same initiative marks the success of Ca'del Bosco already at the dawn of its production history. Thus Ca'del Bosco has recognized and personalized a territory starting from a great passion for the most renowned culture of sparkling wine and reaching excellence and a strong identity. In the mid-1960s this great adventure began by Annamaria Clementi Zanella who, buying a small house in the hills surrounded by a chestnut wood in Erbusco, recovered the name 'Ca' del bosc 'which would have become over the years' 70 the symbol of a prestigious wine reality. A meticulous production method involves the careful selection and classification of the grapes harvested, then processed to remove any impurities and guarantee a perfect result. In the absence of oxygen, the grapes are pressed before fermentation in oak barrels begins. Each step is carried out with care to preserve the product from contact with oxygen. Long refinements, stone cellars and bottle traceability are some of the devices used in state-of-the-art cellars to maintain very high quality standards. 1976 is the year of production of the first three sparkling wines: the Pinot di Franciacorta Brut, the Pinot di Franciacorta Dosage Zéro and the Pinot di Franciacorta Rosé ready for sale in December 1978. Many years of research and experimentation allow to reach during 2007 at the presentation of the first Cuvée Prestige by Ca'del Bosco.
