Valle de Colchagua
Valle de Colchagua is one of the most promising areas of South America, much more recent than the famous Valle del Maipo, where some of the nation's most prestigious wines come from. Characterized by very advantageous climatic conditions, it attracted the interest of none other than the Rothschilds of Bordeaux who decided to found their Los Vascos winery here. Located near the line of the Equator, it is a very hot and dry area, mitigated by the breezes of the Pacific Ocean and by sporadic refreshing rains, creating ideal conditions for growing grapes. The great attention paid to wine tourism in recent years has led this region to equip itself with facilities designed specifically to create attractiveness for tourists, becoming in some ways similar to the Californian Napa Valley.
