Nerello Mascalese
Nerello mascalese is a red grape variety widespread above all on Etna, it can also be found throughout north-eastern Sicily and along the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria. It is a grape with noble characteristics, still today it is often cultivated ungrafted on soils of volcanic sands, according to the old Greek sapling system.
