Description
What kind of wine is it
Barolo Brunate Ceretto is a red wine from the Langhe made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Brunate cru in the municipality of La Morra. The style is refined and harmonious, with a well-defined structure, fine tannins, and a fresh, persistent flavor progression. Vinification takes place in stainless steel, and the long ageing in wood and bottle contributes to a balanced profile in line with its origin.
Where does it come from
This wine is produced in the Langhe region, in the Barolo area, from a vineyard located in the Brunate cru, the most prestigious part of the La Morra municipality. The rows face south and southeast and their roots sink into the Sant’Agata marls, which influence tannic definition and texture. Ceretto has been operating in these hills for nearly a century, with selected vineyards in the best-known crus of the Barolo and Barbaresco area.
How is it produced
The grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks with only indigenous yeasts, a choice that allows the cru to fully express itself. The wine then matures for a long period in wood, alternating between large casks and oak tonneaux, to integrate structure and complexity without losing precision. Ageing is completed with a period in bottle, which helps make the overall profile more harmonious.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it presents a ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose combines violet, orange zest, and wild berries, with hints of aromatic herbs and liquorice root. On the palate it is harmonious, with very fine tannins and delicate aromas; the finish is fresh and persistent, long and clean.
Food pairings
At the table it pairs well with spit-roasted game and roasts, in keeping with its structure, tannic texture, and persistence. The finesse of each sip makes it ideal with important meat dishes, where the wine maintains a balance between aromatic intensity and tactile sensation. With juicy red meats, the pairing remains perfect thanks to its fresh progression and long finish.
When to serve it
It is a red wine suitable for lunches and dinners where a structured and precise wine is desired, perfect for meat and game dishes. The long ageing in wood and bottle provides a measured sip, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. The continuity and persistence of flavor also make it suitable for cellar ageing.
