Description

What kind of wine is it

Bolgheri Rosso by Campo al Faro is a full-bodied, warm Tuscan red wine. This blend is crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot grapes, diligently grown in the Bolgheri area. Maturation, skillfully combining French oak barriques and concrete tanks, gives the wine a perfect balance between structure and smoothness, enhancing a delicate and enveloping tannic texture.

Where does it come from

This wine originates in Castagneto Carducci, at the heart of the famed Bolgheri terroir in Tuscany. The coastal area benefits from the sea breeze, a key element ensuring freshness and even ripening of the grapes. The identity of this denomination is rooted in the great Bordeaux varieties, and thanks to these influences, the wine acquires a composed structure and an authentic character.

How is it produced

Harvest takes place between September and early October, with careful selection of the grape clusters. Vinification continues in temperature-controlled steel tanks that provide constant temperature control. Afterwards, the wine ages for seven months, resting partly in French oak barriques and partly in concrete containers to integrate spicy notes and deliver a seamless sip.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red color. On the nose, clear aromas of cherry and wild berries emerge, enriched by light spicy nuances. On the palate, the sip is full and enveloping, supported by delicate tannins that never make the drinking experience harsh, while the finish is lingering and perfectly balanced between fruitiness and pleasant spicy echoes.

Food pairings

Its tannic texture enhances structured dishes. It pairs perfectly with classic oven-baked lasagna but also complements braised red meats and roasts. True to Tuscan tradition, it is an ideal match for wild boar or boards of aged cheeses, and it gracefully supports slow-cooked dishes to ensure a harmonious and balanced meal.

When to serve it

This red proves to be the ideal choice to accompany lunches and dinners based on meat or stuffed pasta. Its accessible nature makes it perfect for immediate enjoyment, as it offers approachability without requiring long aging in the cellar. It reveals its character in convivial settings, adding a touch of refinement both to carefully prepared everyday meals and to lavishly set tables.
