Description

The Armagh Shiraz by Jim Barry is one of Australia’s great red wines, produced in the Clare Valley, South Australia, from Shiraz grapes sourced entirely from estate-owned vineyards. Considered a benchmark wine for its intensity, structure, and aging potential, it combines the expressive power of the region with a well-established reputation among Australia's most important wines.

The winemaking process is aimed at enhancing the natural concentration of Shiraz and the aromatic depth of the The Armagh vineyard. The aging takes place for about eighteen months in French oak, helping to integrate power, refined tannins, and complexity without losing the energy of the fruit.

In the glass, it releases intense aromas of blueberry, red currant, and purple fruits, accompanied by notes of sage, violet, licorice, olive tapenade, thyme, wild herbs, clove, and star anise. On the palate, it is deep, vibrant, and structured, with dark and red fruits, hints of blueberry, blackberry, and orange oil, fine sandy tannins, mulberry acidity, and a long, broad, and persistent finish.

It pairs beautifully with grilled beef, roast lamb with herbs, or braised game, elegantly supporting rich and intense dishes.
