Description

What kind of wine is it

The Franciacorta Brut by Bariselli is a Traditional Method wine made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It’s the winery’s founding wine, first produced in 2005. It shows a pale yellow color with greenish highlights and a fresh, fruity taste, with a slight softness and pronounced acidity.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from six plots in four municipalities of Franciacorta, blended to obtain a wine with firm character. The vineyards are hillside, predominantly south-east facing. The soils consist of fine fluvial deposits, fairly deep, with balanced natural fertility, good water retention and a marked clay component.

How it is made

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are hand-harvested between the second and fourth week of August. The grapes are vinified as white with gentle pressing and the must ferments in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperature. The base wine rests in tank until the following spring, then it is bottled for the secondary fermentation. The bottles age for at least eighteen months in the cellar before riddling, and after disgorgement they rest a further three months before release.

Tasting notes

In the glass it’s pale yellow with greenish highlights, with a fine, persistent perlage. The profile is fresh and fruity, with a subtle softness balancing a pronounced acidity. On the palate it’s focused and clean, with a lively finish.

Food pairings

Ideal as an aperitif and pairs well with raw fish, oysters and fried seafood. It’s also good with charcuterie and prosciutto, and with light first courses and fresh cheeses. The lively acidity refreshes the palate even with richer dishes.

When to serve it

This is the versatile Franciacorta for aperitifs, toasts and throughout the meal, when you want a fresh, food-friendly wine. A suitable choice both for celebrations and for everyday dinners.
