Description

What type of wine it is

Franciacorta Brut Rosé Contadi Castaldi is skillfully blended from Pinot Nero grapes and Chardonnay. Meticulously crafted according to the Traditional Method, it presents itself as a Brut Rosé with a fresh and balanced profile, notable for its solid structure and long finish. The primary fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, while aging occurs partly in steel and partly in barrique, giving the final wine remarkable aromatic precision and depth of flavor.

Where it comes from

This wine is born in the heart of Franciacorta, in Lombardy, a region historically suited to the production of top-quality sparkling wines. The vineyards benefit from the climate moderated by nearby lakes and beneficial daily temperature swings, factors that promote the slow aromatic development of the grapes. The region’s rich, well-drained soils allow Chardonnay and Pinot Nero to reveal a clear territorial character. This unique geographical setting shapes a glass of wine with a defined, savoury, and elegant identity.

How it is produced

Vinification begins with a meticulous manual harvest, carried out between late August and early September to select only the grapes destined for gentle pressing. Following the strict steps of the Traditional Method, the must undergoes primary fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the integrity and purity of the fruit. Prior to bottling for the second fermentation, the base wine rests for about seven months in steel tanks and partially in barrique, an essential phase that enriches the aromatic complexity.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it displays a bright coral pink hue, enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage that underlines its visual continuity. On the nose, it reveals a vibrant profile with clear scents of wild berries and rose petals, followed by crisp notes of apple and delicate hints of tropical fruits. On the palate, it stands out for its savoury and well-structured character, offering a smooth progression towards a long-lasting finish where freshness and aromatic intensity find a harmonious balance.

Food pairings

Thanks to its balanced interplay between texture and finesse, this label shines particularly as an aperitif. Its natural savouriness and delicate floral character make it the ideal companion for a wide range of light Italian starters. It also pairs beautifully with cured meats, with its effervescence helping to cleanse the palate and prepare it for the next bite, while always maintaining the elegance of the gastronomic experience, without overpowering the flavors of the dishes.

When to serve

Signed by the renowned label Contadi Castaldi, this rosé expression is the perfect choice to enhance convivial occasions or formal gatherings. When served at the right temperature to emphasize its fresh profile and lively bubbles, it fully showcases the clarity of its aromas. Its consistent character and persistent palate make it extremely versatile—perfect for an elegant toast among friends or to mark the rhythm of a shared meal at the table.
