Description

Cynar is an Italian amaro based on artichoke, born as an icon of the aperitif and become famous for its original character and its reference to the "drain of modern life." With a vintage yet still contemporary profile, it stands out for its versatile personality, suitable to be enjoyed straight with ice or mixed, particularly in a Spritz.

The recipe is based on the use of artichoke and an infusion of herbs and aromatic plants, which help create a balance between bitterness, smoothness, and botanical complexity. The preparation enhances the aromatic extraction of botanicals, resulting in a dark-colored liqueur with a sweet-bitter taste, designed to accompany both the aperitif time and the end of a meal.

On the nose, it offers vegetal and herbal notes, with hints of artichoke, aromatic herbs, dark citrus fruits, caramel, and light spicy tones. On the palate, it is soft, enveloping, and pleasantly bitter, with intense persistence and a botanical finish that enhances its distinctive character.

Served with ice, soda, tonic, cola, or in a Cynar Spritz, it pairs well with savory snacks, focaccia, semi-aged cheeses, olives, cured meats, light fried foods, and dishes with a bold flavor.
