Description
Pritchard Hill Cabernet Sauvignon by Chappellet is a limited-production wine that represents the winery's highest expression and the distinctive character of the mountainous vineyards of Pritchard Hill. Composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon with a small percentage of Petit Verdot, it combines power, elegance, and complexity, inspired by the tradition of the great Bordeaux blends.
The grapes come from rocky mountain vineyards capable of producing deep, structured wines predisposed to long aging. Maturation takes place for about twenty-two months in new French oak, helping to integrate intensity, robust tannins, and aromatic finesse in a rich and impeccably defined style.
In the glass, it expresses concentrated aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, ripe blackberry, sweet oak smoke, cedar, tobacco leaf, graphite, and violet. On the palate, it is opulent and elegant, with rich and vigorous tannins, enveloping dark fruit and nuances of sandalwood, dried herbs, anise, vanilla, nutmeg, dark chocolate, and spices, leading to a long and polished finish.
It pairs beautifully with beef fillet, rack of lamb, or roast game, enhancing its refined power and complexity.
