Description

What kind of wine it is

Blumenfeld's Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva is a red wine from Alto Adige, born from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The vinification takes place in steel tanks, followed by maturation in oak barrels and refinement in the bottle. The result is a structured glass with an elegant profile and fine tannins, capable of ensuring good longevity.

Where it comes from

The grapes grow in selected vineyards in the Bolzano area of Alto Adige. The rows stretch across warm, sun-drenched slopes at an altitude between 250 and 300 meters above sea level, offering ideal conditions for even grape ripening. The porphyry soils impart notable typicity to the wine, supporting its structure and enriching the aromatic profile with intense, balanced nuances.

How it is produced

After harvesting, the grapes undergo traditional vinification with fermentation in steel tanks, a crucial step for maintaining aromatic purity and temperature control. Subsequently, the wine matures in oak barrels, an essential phase to integrate structure and soften tannins. Finally, a period of bottle ageing stabilizes the overall profile before tasting.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose opens with fruity aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and blueberry, joined by violet petals and red roses. The bouquet is enriched with notes of dark chocolate and a delicate spiciness. On the palate it is full-bodied and elegant, supported by a fine and well-integrated tannic texture, for a precise and persistent progression of flavor.

Food pairing

This structured red is recommended to accompany the bold flavors of red meats. It pairs naturally with grilled dishes, beef roasts, and braised meats, thanks to a body capable of supporting long cooking times and intense flavors. It also harmonizes beautifully with game, especially traditional alpine dishes such as venison in salmì.

When to serve it

An excellent choice for important dinners and convivial occasions, as it enhances meat-based courses. Maturation in wood and bottle ageing ensure a remarkable capacity for evolution, allowing the wine to be appreciated both in its youth and after patient cellaring. The wine offers an intense yet composed experience, revealing over time a tannic weave that becomes ever more integrated and enveloping.
