Description

What type of wine is it

Terre Siciliane Zibibbo by Li Ciuri is a Sicilian white wine made exclusively from Zibibbo grapes. Its style is distinguished by an aromatic, fresh and savory character, designed for an easy and immediate drink, with a clearly recognisable floral profile. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by aging in the same material and then several months in the bottle, a step that maintains a clean and precise imprint to enhance the original qualities of the white grape variety.

Where does it come from

This wine is born in Western Sicily, in the immediate surroundings of Trapani, within the Terre Siciliane denomination. The bond with its homeland is also celebrated in its name, which means "flowers" in the local dialect, and by the label inspired by the maiolica ceramics of Caltagirone. In this particular area of the island, the Mediterranean climate and proximity to the coast foster the production of whites with marked freshness and a pleasant salinity.

How is it produced

Harvesting takes place towards the end of August, a crucial moment for preserving the delicate aromatic component of the grapes. After picking, vinification involves fermentation in stainless steel, a technique deliberately chosen to limit oxidative interference and safeguard the clarity of the must. The process is completed with aging in steel followed by six months of bottle refinement, a phase that consolidates the aromas without the use of wooden containers.

Tasting notes

To the eye, it shows a straw yellow color enhanced by barely perceptible greenish reflections. The aromatic bouquet is broad and defined, characterized by fruity notes of peach and mandarin intertwined with delicate herbal hints of sage. The palate is fresh and savory, also offering a floral finish that unmistakably recalls the rose and wisteria aromas perceived on the nose.

Food pairings

Thanks to its aromatic organoleptic profile, it pairs perfectly with fish starters, shellfish, and seafood first courses. Its freshness harmoniously accompanies delicate dishes like omelettes and asparagus risotto. Moreover, the wine's versatility allows for bold pairings with mushroom-based dishes, especially scaloppine with mushrooms and fried mushrooms.

When to serve it

This label expresses its potential during lunches and dinners focused on delicately flavored or fish-based dishes. The absence of wood aging makes it a smooth and approachable white, ideal for those seeking a fragrant and balanced sip. It's the perfect choice for moments when you want to bring an aromatic wine with a clear and distinct territorial identity to the table.
