Garnet red with violet hues, taut on the nose with blackberry, eucalyptus, black pepper, and hints of peony and balsamic notes. On the palate, it shows density, crisp-salty tannins, fresh citrusy reminders and a persistent, highly drinkable finish.

Description

What kind of wine is it

Oreno by Tenuta Sette Ponti is a red wine produced in Tuscany from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grapes. This enveloping Bordeaux-style blend boasts a distinct regional identity, built on aromatic precision and structure. After fermentation and slow ageing in French barriques, it rests in the bottle. The result is a harmonious, fruity and spicy profile, with a remarkable aging potential.

Where does it come from

This red originates from the vineyards of Tenuta Sette Ponti, in the rural area from which it takes its name. The south-facing parcels host historic vines with an average age of up to seventy-five years. The estate is crossed by the Oreno river, a feature that identifies the area of origin. The birth in this specific Tuscan microclimate gives the wine an unmistakable style, marked by pronounced elegance and solidity.

How is it produced

Production begins with meticulous hand-picking of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot grapes. Fermentation involves a twenty-five-day maceration, accompanied by multiple punch-downs for optimal extraction. The wine then matures in French barriques for twelve to eighteen months. This is followed by a one-year glass ageing before release, to integrate the fruity notes with those of wood.

Tasting notes

Visually, it displays a deep ruby red color with vibrant purple hues. The nose reveals clear aromas of ripe red fruit, integrated with elegant balsamic notes and hints of chocolate deriving from the wood. On the palate, it offers a fruity and spicy character, supported by a well-defined texture. The finish is harmonious and leaves a long-lasting gustatory persistence in line with the aromatic sensations.

Food pairings

The remarkable structure and spicy notes make it ideal to accompany premium meats and noble game. The intensity on the palate works well with rich braised red meats or important roasts. While recalling its origins, it pairs excellently with Florentine steak and game-based recipes, such as stewed wild boar, to enhance the glass's balsamic nuances.

When to serve it

This red is the right choice for special meals featuring intense and structured menus. Its balanced harmony makes it enjoyable right from release, although it has the qualities for long aging. It is appreciated when an orderly yet substantial sip is desired, maintaining a clear aromatic definition. This is a label suited for evenings dedicated to Tuscan reds with international inspiration.
