Description
What kind of wine is it
Losanga is a white wine from the winery Terra, made from Grechetto grapes with the addition of Pinot Grigio. It shows a pale straw-yellow color and a fragrant, delicate nose. Its style focuses on freshness and easy drinkability, without sacrificing balance. It’s a versatile white, conceived for the aperitif and to accompany light dishes.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from a vineyard of about four hectares located in the area of Todi, in Umbria, at an altitude of about 450 meters above sea level, on silty clay soils. Harvest takes place in the second week of September, with the grapes selected by hand. The vines, trained to a spur-pruned cordon, are between fifteen and twenty years old.
How it is made
The Grechetto and Pinot Grigio grapes undergo gentle pressing followed by cold static settling, to obtain a clear, clean must. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, around sixteen degrees, in stainless-steel tanks. This is followed by four to five months of maturation in steel, before bottling in March.
Tasting notes
To the eye it is a pale straw yellow. The nose is fragrant and delicate, without excess. On the palate it is fresh and balanced, with a linear, pleasant sip. The finish is consistent with the nose, closing on clean notes.
Food pairings
This wine is ideal as an aperitif. It pairs well with fish dishes and white-meat preparations. It also matches nicely with delicate risottos and vegetarian dishes, where its freshness balances subtler flavors.
When to serve
It works well to start the meal or to accompany light dishes on social occasions. It is a suitable choice both for everyday enjoyment and for more refined gatherings.
