Description

Casalabor is a red wine made from Arco grapes, a nearly extinct native red variety, cultivated in the westernmost area of Valencia. It comes from a unique 1.3-hectare plot located at 680 meters above sea level in Fontanars dels Alforins, an area characterized by clay-limestone soils. The vineyard, facing south, is home to vines about 50 years old, providing a very limited and high-quality production.

Vinification takes place in small stainless steel tanks, using indigenous yeasts and including 50% whole clusters. Maceration lasts for 15 days at 26°C. The wine is then aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, allowing for slow maturation that enriches its structure and aromatic complexity.

In the glass, it shows an intense and deep color. On the nose, it reveals refined aromas of ripe red fruits, Mediterranean herbs, sweet spices, and a hint of minerality. On the palate, it is elegant, balanced, and persistent, with a well-defined tannic texture and a freshness that supports the sip through to the long finish.

It pairs perfectly with grilled red meats, roasted game, or aged cheeses.
