Oltrenero

Oltrenero is the company that has made Pinot Nero the foundation of its sparkling wines in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese, among the ancient Roman vineyards, located in the foothills of the Apennines, where the undisputed protagonist has always been wine.

The meticulous care of the vineyards and the low yields in the vineyard are only part of the process that leads to the perfect sparkling wine at Oltrenero: in fact, everything is done to have the highest quality, from the leaf removal in the green pruning phase to give more light to the grapes, and from the harvest made row to row only when the ripening of the grapes is perfect. The real magic, then, takes place in the cellars, where at "cave" temperature the sparkling wines rest on their lees for a long time, to acquire the complexity and grandeur typical of the great Oltrepò Pavese.

This is how great masterpieces awarded all over the world are born, such as the Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico Pinot Nero DOCG Cuvée Brut Oltrenero (90 pt LM) awarded by Wine Enthusiast and James Suckling and the prized Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico Brut Rosé Cruasé DOCG Oltrenero (93 pt LM) also awarded by James Suckling and considered among the best sparkling wines of the appellation thanks to the Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso award.
