Fontanafredda ist der historische Namen der Langhe, von des das Dorf seine gesamte Essenz nimmt. Fontanafredda befindet sich in Serralunga d'Alba im Herzen der Appellation Barolo. Das Weingut hat antike Ursprünge: Im 19. Jahrhunderts wurde von Vittorio Emanuele II eingekauft und nach einigen Jahrzehnten begann die Geschichte der Weinherstellung in den Kellern von Fontanafredda. Das Unternehmen erreicht am Anfang der 1920er Jahren seine maximale produktive Pracht und nach verschiedenen Wechselfällen ist heute der Weingut ein der wichtigsten Produktionsrealitäten der Langhe.
