Description
What type of wine is it
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico by Domini Veneti is a red wine produced in the historical area. Created from a blend of typical grapes, it is born from an autumn harvest and natural drying process. Its elegant profile is shaped by controlled fermentation and slow maceration. The subsequent aging in wood enriches its texture and offers a structured sip with silky tannins.
Where does it come from
The grapes come from the Valpolicella Classica, which is the ancient core of the wine-growing area. The vineyards are located on hillside terraces protected by traditional dry-stone walls. This unique territory promotes perfect ripening of the bunches and gives the wine a strongly distinctive profile in full harmony with the region’s heritage.
How is it produced
The harvested grapes undergo a drying process until January in a drying loft, concentrating aromas and sugars. This is followed by vinification with a slow, thirty-day maceration. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels for eighteen months and then completes its journey with a rest in bottle lasting six to eight months.
Tasting notes
To the eye, the wine stands out with its intense garnet red. The aromatic profile opens with clear notes of dried red fruit, nuances of dark tobacco and spicy hints. On the palate, it is deep, bold, and offers great structural richness. Fine and silky tannins guide the tasting towards a persistent finish that echoes the aromas perceived on the nose.
Food pairing
Its aromatic complexity makes it the perfect companion for slow-cooked dishes. It pairs excellently with braised meats or grilled meat. The softness of its tannins also allows it to accompany game dishes and well-aged cheeses, as the wine’s structure balances out the rich flavors.
When to serve
This is an ideal bottle for important lunches and structured menus. Prolonged aging allows the wine to achieve remarkable expressive balance. To best enjoy its fruity nuances and elegant hints of tobacco and spice, gentle oxygenation is recommended, letting the wine unfold in the glass and express its full potential.
