Barbera d'Alba DOC Sarsera 2014 Simone Scaletta
Description
Simone Scaletta's Barbera d'Asti Sarsera was born from the vine of the same name located in the Langhe, a hilly area in southern Piedmont.
It is produced with 100% Barbera grapes, macerated on the skins in steel tanks at controlled temperature for 5 - 7 days. Following racking, the wine undergoes the alcoholic fermentation process in steel for 15 days, then it is placed in second and third passage barriques for malolactic fermentation, at a constant temperature of 20 ° C. Subsequently the wine ages in barriques for 6 months and decanted in steel tanks for a few months before being bottled and resting for a further 3 months.
La Sarsera is a wine with a bright intense ruby red color. The bouquet has fresh aromas of ripe plum, with spicy undertones. The body is generous, with a high acidity balanced by the typical complexity of the grape variety. Overall it is a wine with a pleasant freshness and good persistence.
Perfect in combination with soups, soups, braised meats and red meats, it is ideal for accompanying cold cuts and aged cheeses.
