Description
The Barbera d'Asti Bricco by Paolo Conterno is made exclusively from Barbera grapes grown in the vineyards of Penango and Cioccaro, in the province of Asti. The vines, which grow on clay-limestone soils with a carbonatic nature, benefit from a sunny exposure and an altitude ranging between 250 and 270 meters above sea level. The grape harvest takes place manually between late September and early October, ensuring a careful selection of the bunches at the time of harvest.
After the crushing and destemming, the maceration occurs in special tanks for a period of 10-12 days, promoting optimal color extraction. This is followed by racking and the completion of fermentation without any additional tannic contributions. Aging takes place in steel tanks, with subsequent racking until bottling, which generally occurs in the summer following the harvest.
It presents an intense ruby red color and reveals a fine and elegant bouquet, characterized by notes of cherry, blueberry, and a light mineral hint of graphite. On the palate, it is smooth, structured, and harmonious, with a vibrant acidity that enhances its freshness and varietal typicity, offering a balanced and pleasantly persistent sip.
This Barbera is ideal when paired with cold cuts, warm appetizers with strong flavors, and white meats.
