Description
Giacomo Conterno's Barolo Francia is one of the most famous labels of this extraordinary producer from the Langhe. The grapes come from the Vigneto Francia, which is located in the cru of the same name, in the southern part of the Serralunga d'Alba territory.
The cool climate, always ventilated and the soil composed of calcareous-clayey marl, allow the Nebbiolo to reach maturity with an intense and rich aromatic profile. At the end of the fermentation process, the wine matures for approximately 48 months in large oak barrels.
In the most typical style of the great Serralunga reds, it is garnet red with a profile of austere elegance, with aromas of morello cherry, small red berries, liquorice root and a subtle spiciness. The sip is deep and powerful, with a dense tannic texture and well integrated with the body of the wine.
To pair with stewed and braised game.
