Description

What kind of wine is it

Seggio di Poggio al Tesoro is a red wine produced in Tuscany, within the renowned Bolgheri area. This blend comes to life from the union of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine rests for fifteen months in partially new French oak barriques, allowing it to develop a structured and very precise style. Its fruity profile integrates harmoniously with mineral and spicy components, a combination that offers notable smoothness and overall balance.

Where does it come from

The grapes come from lush estate-owned vineyards located in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, in the heart of Livorno province. The name of the bottle is a clear tribute to the Seggio river, an important watercourse that crosses the entire Bolgheri denomination area. In this particular territory, the natural environment gives the wine a pronounced freshness imprint, reflecting the full recognizability of the Tuscan region.

How is it made

The vinification of the red grapes aims to enhance the full ripeness of the fruit and the perfect aromatic definition typical of the territory. Once the delicate phase of alcoholic fermentation is finished, the slow aging process begins. The maturation lasts for fifteen months in partially new barriques, a technical choice designed to offer deep structure without overwhelming the varietal character of the wine. At the end of this journey, the result is a glass characterized by flavor continuity and great harmony.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color with a decidedly concentrated hue. The aroma profile presents clear and fragrant blueberry and cherry scents, pleasantly enriched by refined mineral and spicy notes. On the palate, it immediately feels balanced and enveloping, supported by a structured texture free of roughness. The sip gently leads to a finish distinguished by length and elegance, closing with a pleasant sensation of great cleanliness on the palate.

Food pairings

The solid structure and smoothness of this Tuscan red make it ideal to accompany rich roasts and braised meats, as it perfectly balances the long cooking of succulent meats. It also pairs well with dishes based on game, where the spicy notes enhance the savoriness of the dish. It is a suitable match for strong-flavored dishes, a choice that ensures a clean finish at the table.

When to serve it

It is the ideal choice to enhance lunches and dinners featuring meat, offering an elegant and finely defined aromatic drinking experience. Its patient rest in wood gives the wine remarkable versatility, making it perfect even for the most formal and refined occasions. It is enjoyable right away thanks to the pronounced clarity of its fruit, while at the same time expressing a solid taste intensity that provides pleasing nuances in every sip.
