Description
What kind of wine it is
Campo al Faro’s Bolgheri Rosso is a Tuscan red with a full, warm profile. This blend is born from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes that are cultivated with dedication in the Bolgheri area. This aging regimen, which skilfully combines French oak barriques and concrete, gives the wine a perfect balance between structure and glide on the palate, enhancing a delicate, caressing tannin texture.
Where it comes from
This wine comes to life in Castagneto Carducci, in the heart of the renowned Bolgheri terroir in Tuscany. The coastal area is tempered by the sea breeze, a key element that ensures freshness and steady ripening of the bunches. The identity of this appellation rests on the great Bordeaux varieties and, thanks to these influences, the wine gains a poised structure and an authentic character.
How it is made
Harvest takes place between September and early October with a careful selection of the bunches. Vinification continues in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks that ensure constant temperature control. The wine then ages for seven months, resting partly in French oak barriques and partly in concrete, integrating spicy notes and a clean, linear palate.
Tasting notes
In the glass it displays an intense ruby-red color. The nose opens with clear cherry aromas and wild berries, lifted by subtle spicy nuances. On the palate it is full and enveloping, supported by gentle tannins that never compromise drinkability, while the finish shows good persistence and closes in perfect balance between the fruit components and the pleasant spicy echoes.
Food pairing
Its tannic texture enhances structured dishes. It pairs beautifully with classic baked lasagna, and also elevates preparations based on braised red meats and roasts. In line with Tuscan tradition, it is a match made in heaven with wild boar or with boards of aged cheeses, and it gracefully supports slow-cooked dishes to guarantee a harmonious, well-balanced meal.
When to serve it
This red is the ideal choice to accompany lunches and dinners based on meat or stuffed pastas. Its approachable nature makes it perfect for immediate enjoyment, offering instant appeal without requiring long cellaring. It shows its character in convivial settings and adds a graceful touch both to a carefully prepared everyday meal and to a richly laid table.
