Description

What kind of wine is it

Melea by Long Wines is a still white wine produced in Cuenca, in the Castilla region. This harmonious blend combines Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc for a fresh and straightforward impact. Exclusive aging in stainless steel preserves the aromatic purity and a lively citrusy lift. It reveals a crisp style that delivers good persistence on the palate and pleasant fruity sensations in perfect harmony.

Where it comes from

This wine is born in the territory of Cuenca, protected by the Castilla denomination. The grapes come from certified organic vineyards cultivated dry at six hundred and sixty meters altitude to ensure vibrant acidity. The characteristics of the sandy-clayey soils translate into an elegant tension on the palate, enriched by subtle mineral notes. The harsh continental climate shapes an essential and lively sip.

How it is produced

The winemaking process favors extreme care and uses clear musts from the start. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeast in refrigerated tanks at fifteen degrees, a technique necessary to preserve the primary aromas of the grapes. Since it excludes the use of wood, aging takes place entirely in stainless steel to maintain great expressive cleanness and ensure a long citrusy finish with a pure character.

Tasting notes

Poured into the glass, it shows a bright lemon yellow with delicate greenish highlights. The bouquet opens with prominent notes of pineapple, fresh grass, and white petals, alongside an intriguing touch of flint. On the palate, it’s fully dry and refreshing, with a dynamic progression. The persistence is remarkable and is guided by a citrus balance that enhances the technical precision of the tasting.

Food pairings

Its dry nature and pronounced acidity make it perfect alongside delicate fresh fish dishes or to liven up light summer salads. The interplay of fruit and vegetal notes naturally matches pure ingredients and simple preparations. In line with Iberian tradition, it pairs well with a classic seafood paella, balancing its spices, or a plate of fried calamari as an aperitif.

When to serve it

It’s an excellent white wine to enliven informal moments or accompany light outdoor meals. The adopted vinification method gives it a vibrant character always focused on the freshness and fragrance of the grape varieties. Enjoyed at a moderate temperature, it amplifies its floral nuances and offers a refreshing sip. It’s a reliable white during the warmest seasons, when immediate vitality is needed.
