Description

What kind of wine is it

Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses by La Pousse d’Or is a red from Burgundy made from Pinot Noir grapes, created to express finesse and aging potential. A meticulous selection of the grape clusters defines an elegant and concentrated stylistic profile. The winemaking process aims to preserve the liveliness of the fruit and offers a sip with a silky tannic texture and precise palate-cleansing qualities, capable of revealing its best nature over time.

Where does it come from

The wine originates in Chambolle-Musigny, in Burgundy, from the historic Les Amoureuses 1er Cru vineyard. The vines are grown on predominantly limestone marl. This soil composition is key for the wine’s palate tension. The essence of the terroir emerges in a pure expression of the grape variety and provides a balanced structure combined with a long persistence.

How is it produced

The process begins with cold maceration to encourage controlled extraction and a precise aromatic definition. Fermentation starts spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, allowing the character of the vineyard to shine through. This is followed by a fifteen-month maturation in oak barrels, thirty percent of which are new wood. This phase ensures a delicate merging of toasted notes with the original fruit character.

Tasting notes

In the glass it shows an intense and bright ruby red with violet highlights. The nose opens with elegant floral scents of rose and violet petals, followed by small red fruits such as wild strawberries and blackberries. On the palate it is dense and velvety, supported by mature and silky tannins. The long, persistent finish delivers lasting balance between the freshness of the fruit and an intriguing spicy nuance.

Food pairing

It accompanies structured dishes based on white meats and game birds to highlight refined dishes. It is especially suited to a roast pheasant or game recipes with a light spice touch. It also pairs well with classic coq au vin, where its aromatic profile complements the flavour of the meat. It’s ideal for enhancing precisely and juicy cooked dishes and avoids sweet or spicy sauces.

When to serve

It’s recommended for occasions demanding an elegant red, such as a carefully prepared lunch or a sophisticated dinner. Although enjoyable in its youth for the integrity of its fruit, it clearly demonstrates aging potential in the cellar. Bottle aging enriches its profile and offers greater depth. A distinguished choice to serve a wine with continuous and structured progression.
