Description
What kind of wine it is
Blondel Rosé Rubis by Blondel is a Brut Rosé Champagne with a broad and harmonious profile. This wine stands out for its blend, which combines a white base made from Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay with a red wine from the vineyards of Trigny. Produced using the Traditional Method, it rests on the lees for a period ranging from two to three years, followed by at least six months of aging after disgorgement. The result is an elegant glass, where the well-integrated freshness supports the aromatic structure.
Where it comes from
This wine is born in the Champagne region, in northeastern France, where it benefits from a cool oceanic and continental climate. The chalky and limestone soils give the wines a marked minerality and great finesse, while the winemaking tradition of the area is the result of centuries of refinement and passion, making Champagne a worldwide symbol of elegance and savoir-faire.
How it is produced
Winemaking strictly follows the Traditional Method, starting from assembling the white base with the red wine from Trigny. The second fermentation in the bottle allows the wine to mature on the lees for two or three years, developing noticeable complexity. After disgorgement, at least six months of rest helps integrate the aromatic components. The Brut dosage then intervenes to balance the gustatory tension, while maintaining a consistent and harmonious technical imprint during tasting.
Tasting notes
It displays a rich orange-pink color, with a lively effervescence producing a generous foam. The nose reveals a bouquet of red fruits, strawberry purée, orange, and grapefruit, completed by an exotic touch and a light hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is structured and persistent, where the fruity flavors blend with notes of rhubarb, honey, and gingerbread. Each sip communicates maturity, constantly supported by present acidity and precise balance on the finish.
Food pairings
Thanks to its aromatic richness, Blondel Rosé Rubis pairs perfectly with refreshing desserts such as red fruit sorbets, blackberries, or rhubarb. As for savory dishes, its structure excellently matches meat preparations, particularly duck breast cooked rare served with cranberry sauce, where the sweet and acidic elements come together harmoniously.
When to serve
This Champagne is ideal when you want to enjoy a mature Brut Rosé, capable of perfectly supporting both a dedicated tasting experience and an entire meal. The long aging on the lees and subsequent refinement make it perfect for occasions that call for a wine with well-integrated complexity. It performs best when the aim is to highlight its breadth of flavor and spicy notes, ensuring a continuous and satisfying tasting experience.
