Champagne Extra Brut AOC Grand Blanc 2014 Philipponnat
Description
Philipponnat's Grand Blanc originates from the first pressing of a selection of 100% Chardonnay grapes, which come from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards in areas with a high vocation for Champagne: Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims and Clos des Goisses.
The vinification takes place partly in wood and partly in steel, where it performs a partial malolactic fermentation, and then Extra Brut is dosed in order to preserve the purity and nobility of its origin. This champagne ages for 5-7 years on the lees, acquiring the maximum possible complexity and the exaltation of its secondary and tertiary aromas.
In the glass it is dressed in a light, bright and brilliant golden yellow. The foam is lively and fine, the minute and persistent perlage. The nose offers an elegant and refined bouquet, with intense hints of citrus and white flowers which gradually become more complex and intriguing. In the mouth it opens on mineral sensations, revealing rich and multifaceted, on fruity nights of tangerine and grapefruit. The finish is vinous, in full Philipponnat style, round and prolonged.
Excellent as an aperitif, it goes perfectly with all seafood dishes.
