Description

The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna Grospoli is produced by the Lamole di Lamole winery, located in Greve in Chianti. The vines are cultivated in the archaic form of the Lamolese sapling.

It consists exclusively of Sangiovese grapes, harvested in the third week of October. The grapes are de-stemmed and pressed, to then be vinified in 50 hl truncated cone barrels. The ageing in barrels is over 2 years, first in the same fermentation barrels, then in 30 hl oak barrels. Finally, the wine concludes its ageing by remaining at least 12 months in the bottle.

In the glass the wine appears ruby red in colour. The nose is expressed with a complex bouquet, with hints of violet and iris, berries, aromatic herbs and sweet spices. The taste is powerful and layered, with very fine tannins, fresh and savoury.

Ideal as an accompaniment to dishes with mushrooms, stewed meats and aged cheeses.
