Description

What kind of wine is it

Cirò Rosato Librandi is a wine made exclusively from Gaglioppo grapes grown in the Cirò area. Vinification employs the saignée technique in stainless-steel tanks, followed by a period of aging in the same tanks and then in bottle. The result in the glass shows a fresh and supple profile, characterized by a light tannic presence and a measured residual sweetness that makes for immediate, seamless drinkability.

Where it comes from

This wine has its roots in plots located within the Cirò growing area, with parcels stretching across the neighboring municipalities of Cirò Marina, Crucoli and Melissa. Its precise geographic origin gives the wine a clear sense of place, tied to the distinctiveness of the local soils and climate. In this particular winegrowing area, cultivation focuses on Gaglioppo, a choice that ensures a production chain that keeps the region’s signature intact.

How it is made

Harvest takes place between the second half of September and early October. In the cellar, a brief maceration on the skins allows for a calibrated extraction of color. Fermentation occurs in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperature to preserve aromatic integrity. Afterwards, the wine ages in stainless steel and in bottle, stabilizing the structure without altering the purity of the sensory profile.

Tasting notes

In the glass it displays a bright cherry-pink hue, enlivened by subtle garnet highlights. The aromatic profile offers clear notes of cherries and pink grapefruit, interwoven with delicate underlying spice. On the palate, it shows a welcoming texture and a pleasant freshness, well supported by a gentle tannic texture. The flavor balance is completed by a delicate touch of sweetness on the finish that enhances drinking pleasure.

Food pairings

Its natural aptitude for aperitifs makes it ideal alongside white meats and fish-based dishes, where the citrus and spicy notes find perfect harmony. Its Calabrian roots suggest pairing with local seafood cuisine, especially swordfish alla ghiotta, a dish rich in Mediterranean flavors. It also pairs beautifully with whitebait fritters, where the wine’s freshness balances the intensity of the dishes.

When to serve it

Perfect for get-togethers, this rosé easily adapts to different occasions and smoothly accompanies the transition from appetizers to the main course. Its straightforward style makes it a safe choice when you want a balanced and well‑poised drink, capable of maintaining a pleasant aromatic consistency in the glass. The combination of softness and structural lightness guarantees enjoyable drinking for those seeking a satisfying tasting experience.
