Description
The Derthona Pitasso by Claudio Mariotto is made from selected Timorasso grapes from the Pitasso vineyard, located in the municipality of Sarezzano at an altitude of 250 to 300 meters above sea level. The vines enjoy optimal east-to-west exposure on a hillside, allowing for balanced ripening. The farming is done without the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or systemic products, preserving the purity of the terroir.
The vinification process involves a gentle and slow pressing of the grapes, followed by spontaneous fermentation at controlled temperatures. The wine is aged for one year on fine lees in stainless steel tanks with light bâtonnage, followed by at least 12 months of resting in the bottle, giving the wine complexity and depth.
It presents an intense and luminous golden yellow color. On the nose, it is floral and enveloping, with notes of ripe fruit and honey. On the palate, it is fleshy and juicy, with a rich texture and a slight spicy vein that provides balance and persistence.
Perfect with fish dishes, shellfish, and aged cheeses.
