Description
What kind of wine it is
The Dolcetto d'Alba "Tiglineri" by Enzo Boglietti is a red wine made exclusively from Dolcetto grapes. It shows an intense color and a rich, full profile, supported by freshness and fine tannins. It’s a characterful Piedmont red that combines fruit, structure, and a pleasantly bitter finish.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards in La Morra and Monforte, in the heart of the Langhe, in Piedmont. The vines are trained to Guyot, with low yields per hectare, and production is limited to a few thousand bottles.
How it is made
After harvesting the Dolcetto grapes, fermentation lasts about 10 days at controlled temperature, with daily pump-overs and punch-downs that promote the extraction of color and aromas. This is followed by 6 months of maturation in French oak, which rounds out the palate and adds spicy nuances without masking the fruit.
Tasting notes
In the glass it is an intense, deep purple-red. On the nose are ripe red and dark fruits, particularly cherry, blackberry and blueberry, accompanied by floral notes, aromatic herbs and spicy and balsamic nuances. On the palate it is rich, full and vibrant, with good freshness and fine, present tannins. The finish is long, with a pleasant bitter note.
Food pairings
It’s a versatile red at the table: it pairs with cured meats, pasta with meat sauces and medium-aged cheeses, yet it also stands up well to red meats and roasts. Its freshness and fine tannin support the savory character of Piedmontese cuisine.
When to serve it
It’s a wine for convivial lunches and dinners when you’re looking for a Piedmont red with good structure, already expressive yet able to evolve for up to 7–8 years. A large-bowled glass brings out its fruit and floral notes.
