Description
What kind of wine is it
Ferghettina Brut is a Franciacorta created from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, which are grown on the hills of Adro in the Brescia area. The winemaking follows the Traditional Method, with a second fermentation in the bottle that gives the wine a fresh and elegant style. This Franciacorta focuses on aromatic purity and balanced taste, thanks to a meticulous production process starting from the careful selection of the grape bunches.
Where does it come from
This wine comes to life on the hills of Adro, within the renowned Franciacorta denomination. The winegrowing area of Brescia forms the ideal geographical backdrop where the Ferghettina winery shapes its winemaking identity. The connection with its land of origin is evident in a profile that combines finesse and drinkability, offering a faithful expression of the Lombard soil with great expressive continuity.
How is it produced
Production begins with an extremely delicate pressing of whole bunches of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Only the free-run must, or the highest quality portion from the first pressing, is extracted in this phase for fermentation. The wine rests until the following spring and is then bottled for the prise de mousse according to the Traditional Method. A 24-month refinement on the lees follows, essential for defining a measured aromatic profile and the delicate texture of the bubbles.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a straw yellow color, with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, neat and precise aromas appear, characterized by hints of hazelnut and subtle notes of sweet fruit. On the palate, these olfactory sensations are perfectly matched, offering a sip supported by a pleasant freshness that remains constant until the clean, balanced finish.
Food pairings
This Franciacorta pairs harmoniously with delicate first courses and fish-based main courses, enhancing dishes with measured aromatic components. It is particularly recommended with raw fish and shellfish, where the freshness of the sip balances the sweetness of the flesh. Its elegant style makes it perfect with a seafood risotto or spaghetti allo scoglio, as it keeps the palate clean when facing quick-cooked dishes.
When to serve it
Thanks to its fresh drinkability and fine bubbles, this Franciacorta is ideal for serving throughout the meal during convivial moments. It proves a reliable choice from the very start of dinner, maintaining its expressiveness even with the main courses. Its long rest on the lees ensures a clearly defined character, perfect for occasions when you’re looking for a wine that combines aromatic elegance with a refreshing finish.
