Description

What kind of wine it is

Franciacorta Dosaggio Zero by Barbalonga is a wine produced in Lombardy from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes vinified as a white. Classified as Franciacorta, it is defined by its dry and technical style. The winemaking process follows the Traditional Method, which ensures a well-defined structure and remarkable balance. The choice of Dosaggio Zero expresses a minimalist approach, meant to highlight the wine’s expressive clarity and pronounced freshness, creating a dynamic and precise profile.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from vineyards in Rovato, located in the province of Brescia, within the renowned Franciacorta region. This local origin defines a strict approach consistent with the area’s vocation and gives the wine a dynamic flavor profile. The absence of dosage leads the expression towards an authentic and essential character, with dryness at the core and a finish that preserves linearity and clarity.

How it is produced

The production process starts with a gentle pressing of the bunches to obtain a pure must. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel, keeping a harmonious imprint, while the Pinot Noir vinified as white adds structure without affecting the color. The secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle, strictly following the Traditional Method. The wine matures through thirty months of aging on the lees and completes its evolution with a further two months of rest in the cellar after disgorgement.

Tasting notes

In the glass, the wine displays a straw yellow color, enriched with subtle greenish hints and accompanied by a soft and persistent mousse. The fine and persistent perlage attests to the quality of the long bottle aging. On the nose, it opens with clear and enveloping notes of tropical fruit, harmoniously blending into delicate evolved nuances. The palate entry is dry and consistent, marked by vibrant freshness and a clean finish that easily invites another sip.

Food pairings

Thanks to its dry character and remarkable drinkability, this Franciacorta proves incredibly versatile. The freshness and clean finish help keep flavors balanced, making it ideal for a refined aperitif or to accompany an entire meal, even through a sequence of complex courses. On a local note, it pairs perfectly with structured first courses, like a flavorful Risotto alla Milanese, to enhance the ingredients in an essential and well-defined way.

When to serve

This label is the perfect choice when looking for a Traditional Method wine with a dry sip and a balanced profile, ideal for accompanying extended sociable occasions. The sugar-free profile enhances moments when deep flavor clarity and a neat finish are desired. Thanks to the long aging and careful disgorgement, it offers a balanced expression, perfect for those who appreciate a precise texture and vibrant freshness in the glass.
