Description
What kind of wine is it
Franciacorta Riserva Nature from Monzio Compagnoni is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, carefully vinified as a white wine. The sparkling process strictly follows the Traditional Method, offering a fresh, complex profile with great precision on the palate. Ageing on the lees imparts aromatic depth and a structure that provides a long and defined drinkability, maintaining a technically driven and notably dry character.
Where does it come from
This label is born in Adro, in the province of Brescia, in the heart of the Franciacorta region of Lombardy. Monzio Compagnoni directly manages thirty hectares of vineyards. This extent dictates the winery’s production capacity and ensures a strong territorial continuity, which is faithfully reflected in the expressive style of its wines.
How is it produced
The grapes are harvested and processed to create a base wine that favours aromatic purity and lively palate tension. The secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle following the Traditional Method, with sixty months of ageing on the lees. This extended period is key to developing the complexity of the final profile and harmoniously balances the wine’s natural freshness and solid structure.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a straw-yellow hue, true to the white vinification of the grapes. The nose reveals aromas of walnut husk and bay leaf, complemented by hints of biscuit and delicate notes of vanilla. On the palate, it is fresh and complex, with a structured progression and long persistence, supported by extended maturation on the lees and closing with a straightforward, clean finish.
Food pairings
Its versatility at the table makes it ideal for accompanying elaborate fish dishes, where its pronounced freshness balances richer preparations. Its texture also allows for excellent pairing with red meats, especially those cooked in ways that require robust wines. The clean finish ensures a consistent palate balance, perfect for supporting intense flavours throughout the meal.
When to serve
This Franciacorta is perfect for those who appreciate a dry profile, particularly recommended during a complete meal with intensely flavoured courses. Its long maturation makes it ready to drink, but it is also suitable for further cellaring. It is the natural choice when technical precision is required, and the wine needs to provide continuity through to the finish, enhancing dishes without overpowering them.
