Frascati DOC Terre dei Grifi 2015 Fontana Candida

Frascati Terre dei Grifi was born in the Lazio hills of the Fontana Candida company. This wine is part of the homonymous product line of the company which has as its main purpose the reproduction, in a modern key, of all the aromatic and gustatory richness typical of the terroirs of the hills of Rome.

It is produced with Malvasia Bianca di Candia, Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia del Lazio and Greco grapes, harvested only by hand in the first ten days of October. A part of these grapes is fermented and left to macerate at low temperatures, before pressing. The must must ferment, then, for about 2 weeks, after adding a pied de cuvèe , prepared with selected indigenous yeasts. Then follows the transfer and the formation of the blend which is refined in steel containers until bottling.

Terre dei Grifi has a shiny golden yellow color with light green hues. Thanks to a long period spent on the lees, this wine shows a good olfactory complexity, with aromas of wild flowers that blend with exotic fruity notes, and, at the end, with hints of musk and almond. In the mouth it is full and fresh alive, with an elegant and persistent aftertaste of ripe pear and green almond that accompanies the finish.

This wine is perfect with first courses, fish and white meats.
