Friuli Grave Riserva DOC Villa Agricola 2013 Pighin

The Riserva Villa Agricola was born in the splendid vineyards of the Risano estate of the Pighin company, near Pavia di Udine.

Obtained from the assembly of Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, vinified separately, the must is macerated in special stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures. After 6 months of aging in steel tanks, the product is left to rise for at least 3 years in oak barrels held by a blend of Aliier, Never and Troncais oak, and then rest in glass for another 6 months before being put into trade.

The Riserva Villa Agricola is characterized by a very deep ruby red color and by harmonious and fine aromas reminiscent of berries, vanilla and spicy aromas of pepper and nutmeg. In the mouth it shows personality and a great aromatic persistence, with an elegant and balanced finish.

Excellent with important dishes based on grilled red meat, noble poultry and game, it goes very well with a good platter of well-seasoned hard cheeses.
