Description

The Ghemme by Torraccia del Piantavigna is produced in the north-eastern area of Piedmont with Nebbiolo and Vespolina grapes.

The best grapes grown on alluvial and clayey soils are selected from the 6 hectares of the property. The grapes are vinified in the traditional way with maceration and alcoholic fermentation for 10 days. Maturation for at least 4 years precedes a further ageing in bottle for a period of 6 months.

The wine has a ruby red colour with orange reflections. With a pleasant and fine aroma, it expresses flowers like violets on the nose, it remains dry in the sip with soft and compound tannins. Long in the finish, it is warm and harmonious.

Suitable for savoury dishes, red meats, game and braised meats, it is also ideal with aged cheeses and first courses with meat sauce.
