Description
What kind of wine it is
Riesling Kamptaler Terrassen by Brundlmayer is a white wine made from 100% Riesling grapes. It presents as a fresh and elegant white, focused on aromatic precision and taut palate. Vinification in steel tanks with alcoholic fermentation on fine lees preserves the clarity of its profile. This expression combines fruity flavors, floral hints and a clear mineral signature, which naturally leads to an exploration of the terroir and production techniques.
Where it comes from
The wine originates from the terraced vineyards of Kamptal, Austria, at the meeting point between the valley and the Danube. The vines grow at altitudes between two and three hundred meters above sea level, rooted in poor, stony soils with a good clay content. The marked temperature swings between day and night define the style of the wine and uphold the freshness and aromatic precision typical of the local terroir.
How it is produced
The grapes are hand-harvested and transported to the winery in small crates to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Upon arrival, the grapes undergo gentle pressing to obtain a clean, direct must. The subsequent alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel, with contact on the fine lees. This technical choice helps to support the structure of the white wine, ensuring great aromatic clarity and excellent drinkability on the palate.
Tasting notes
In the glass it shows a clear, bright straw yellow color. The olfactory profile is distinctively fruity and floral, with precise citrus, white peach and apricot aromas, well balanced by a stony mineral nuance. On the palate it is pleasant and fresh, animated by a lively sapidity that lengthens the flavor progression and enhances the overall drinkability of the structure.
Food pairings
Its pronounced freshness and savory character make it a great match for fish dishes, seafood and seasonal vegetables. It pairs beautifully with seafood preparations and harmoniously accompanies delicate first and second courses that exalt its clean sip. It also goes well with vegetable recipes, where the wine’s palate tension balances the flavors of the dish and guarantees a pleasant and well-balanced gastronomic match.
When to serve it
It is the perfect choice when you want to bring a characterful white to the table, ideal for convivial occasions featuring seafood and vegetable cuisine. Its focus on fruit and stony minerality highlights its immediacy and enhances occasions that call for liveliness and great purity. Its high drinkability makes it a rewarding glass that remains true to its origins.
