Description

What kind of wine is it

Lugana by Niviana is a white wine made from Trebbiano di Soave grapes, known locally as Turbiana. This wine reflects the character of the region situated on the border between Lombardy and Veneto and stands out for its clean and linear aromatic profile. Careful vinification in steel yields a fresh and approachable white, with a dry and crisp palate that harmoniously combines floral notes, hints of yellow fruit, and pleasant citrusy nuances.

Where it comes from

This label originates from the renowned Lugana denomination, an interregional area uniquely positioned between the provinces of Brescia and Verona. The vineyards dig their roots into clay-based soils, which are capable of retaining the water reserves necessary for proper and even berry ripening. The entire local viticulture benefits from the mild climate of Lake Garda, whose breezes contribute to the balance and pronounced freshness of this wine.

How it is produced

After harvesting, the grapes undergo a rigorous and classic white vinification. The process continues with alcoholic fermentation, which takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks to manage temperatures and keep the grape’s varietal qualities intact. The wine is then aged for four months in steel before bottling, a step that preserves the precise definition of its fruity aromas and avoids any interference.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it displays a luminous straw yellow color. The first nose reveals an immediately fragrant bouquet dominated by white flowers, followed by aromas of white and yellow-fleshed fruits, with clear hints of pineapple and mango complemented by citrus nuances. On the palate, the entry is distinctly dry and lively, with a dynamic and crisp progression. The tasting concludes with a medium-length finish that brings back sensations of freshness.

Food pairings

Thanks to its pleasant acidity, this white is excellent as an aperitif. At the table, it naturally accompanies and never overpowers a wide variety of seafood starters, enhancing their briny notes in light preparations. Its measured structure also makes it a good choice for pairing with fish soups and baked fish recipes, creating a tasteful synergy that respects the delicacy of sea ingredients.

When to serve it

This white is perfect for occasions calling for a straightforward and unpretentious drink, ideal for both pre-meal moments and everyday lunches. Its versatility makes it ideal for informal get-togethers centered around conviviality. Since its main qualities are based on the fragrance and immediacy of its fruity and floral aromas, it is advisable to enjoy it while young to highlight its naturally vibrant freshness.
