Description

Château Malescot St. Exupéry, whose origins date back to the 16th century, takes its name from two of the many families who have owned it over the centuries: the Malescot family (late 17th century) and Count St. Exupéry (mid 19th century). Since the 1950s, Château Malescot St. Exupéry has belonged to the Zuger family, which produces excellent wines under the guidance of Michel Rolland, the famous Bordeaux winemaker.

The grapes are vinified at a controlled temperature in steel and concrete vats of different capacities. Depending on the vintage, the malolactic fermentation takes place in steel, concrete and/or wooden barrels, even with the possible use of the reverse osmosis technique. Aging takes place in French oak barrels (new wood between 80% and 100%) for 14–16 months.

In the glass, the wine appears deep purple. On the nose there are hints of red rose, black currant, blackberries and black mulberries, in addition to notes of undergrowth and cinnamon. In the mouth the wine is opulent, fresh, with smooth tannins and a long persistence.

Ideal in combination with crusted beef fillet and roast loin stuffed with plums. It is advisable to let the wine settle for at least 3 hours before serving it.
