Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2019 Mount Nelson
Description
Mount Nelson is a wine born from the impulse of Lodovico Antinori, connoisseur and fervent fan of Sauvignon Blanc. Together with the oenologist Helena Lindberg, Lodovico selected this exceptional vineyard on the Meadowbank, in Marlborough, New Zealand. Located on the slopes of the Wither Hills and near the coast of Cloudy Bay, the Mount Nelson vineyard is characterized by a cool maritime climate even in the warmer seasons and excellent and prolonged exposure to the sun.
The harvest of the Sauvignon Blanc bunches takes place in the cooler hours of the morning. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel containers at controlled temperature for 10-14 days. It does not provide malolactic to preserve its fruity aromas and its extraordinary freshness, therefore it undergoes a 4-month refinement on the fine lees acquiring a richer consistency and a remarkable persistence.
The color is straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose has intense hints of orange zest and gooseberry, crossed by elegant tips of nettle. The sip is refreshing and clean, with a reference to citrus sensations in the finish.
It is a wine suitable to accompany any course based on molluscs and seafood.
