Description

Antonelli's Montefalco Sagrantino Chiusa di Pannone was born from the homonymous vineyard, located in the heart of the DOCG Montefalco Sagrantino.

It comes from a selection of the best Sagrantino grapes, harvested manually between the second and third week of October. The must, which reaches the tanks by gravity, ferments on its skins for 3-4 weeks at a maximum temperature of 28 ° C. After carrying out the malolactic fermentation on the wood, the wine ages in lightly toasted oak barrels for 6 months, then in oak barrels for another 24 months, and after a short passage in cement, in the bottle for at least 2 years.

Wine with an intense ruby red color, it opens to the nose with a large and intense, ethereal bouquet, in which the fruity notes of cherry and citrus combine with pleasant sensations of aromatic herbs, mint and oregano above all. In the mouth it is characterized by a remarkable structure, with firm tannins and a finish of great persistence.

Extremely long-lived wine, it proves magnificent in the company of grilled and roasted red meats. Also indicated with game and very mature cheeses.
