Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG Passito 2016 Tenute Lunelli
Description
Montefalco Sagrantino Passito from Tenute Lunelli was born in vineyards located on the Castelbuono estate, in the heart of Umbria. The cellar was built by the famous contemporary art artist Arnaldo Pomodoro. The artist called the Carapace winery, and is considered as an exceptional and unique sculptural element.
It is produced exclusively with Sagrantino grapes, which are dried on the racks, giving the wine the typical aromas of the variety. This wine is the traditional version of Montefalco Sagrantino, once vinified only as a dessert wine, used for religious ceremonies.
This Passito is characterized by a ruby red color, with bright reflections. The nose opens with aromas of blueberries and blackberries, enriched with delicate spicy notes of licorice and pleasant aromatic nuances. On the palate it is pleasantly sweet, with a harmonious body, full and rich in fruity flavors. The wine has a balanced and tannic finish.
Perfect to accompany dry sweets, pastries and mature cheeses, it is ideal as a meditation wine.
