Description
The Pauillac Grand Cru Classé from ChâteauMilon, located in the prestigious Médoc of Bordeaux, next to Château MoutonRothschild and Château LafiteRothschild. The domaine belongs to Domaines Philippe de Rothschild and is planted on about 41 hectares exposed on hills of gravel and clay, with a predominant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon accompanied by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Carménère.
The traditional vinification in the Médoc involves long fermentations (15-22 days) in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by an aging of around 16-18 months in barrels, with about 30% new wood renewed every year.
The bouquet develops an intense and deep structure: ripe dark fruits like blackberries, black cherries and prunes blended with toasted notes of tobacco, chocolate, licorice, and sweet spices; on the palate, the wine appears full-bodied, with fine tannins, a velvety texture and a very long savory and mineral finish, with hints of graphite and bitter cocoa.
An ideal companion for grilled red meats or roasted game.
