Pomerol AOC Château L'Évangile 2006 Domaines Barons de Rothschild
Description
Château l'Évangile is an exceptional expression of Bordeaux, a land where the class knows how to give soul to wine. It is produced by Domaines Baron Edmond de Rothschild, in the Pomerol area.
It mainly consists of Merlot grapes, present in a variable range between 80 and 90%, with the addition of a percentage of 10 - 20% of Cabernet Franc. The Château l'Évangile vineyard covers an area of 16 hectares, on a clayey and pebbly soil. Each step in its winemaking is treated in detail, because only in this way, what already arises as excellence can become myth. Refine for 18 months in barriques, 70% new.
At sight it is concentrated, in ruby red color. The nose blooms in a complexity of wide variety: dark fruity notes of blackberry, plum jam, black currant, as well as violet and a series of tertiary hints of leather, cocoa, licorice, pepper and cloves emerge; a slight herbaceous trace gives a pungent counterpoint which, on the whole, creates a beautiful olfactory balance. In the mouth it can be full, dense and structured, enveloping and soft, but at the same time fresh and accompanied by a fine tannin. The persistence of this wine will struggle to leave the palate.
Perfect to accompany seasoned cheeses, even goat cheeses, it is ideal with red meat dishes.
