Description

The Porcupine Ridge of the Boekenhoutskloof company is made in the Coastal Region with a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

With higher rainfall and prolonged ripening periods the tannic structure dominates together with phenolic components and a lower alcohol level. After being harvested, the grapes are transported to the cellar and fermented to refine 9 months in French oak barrels to ensure greater complexity and structure.

Intense ruby red, it has overall very delicate hints, with red and black fruits alternating with notes of graphite and some vegetal and fresh references. On the palate the acidity is supported by the freshness of the vegetal references and the tannins appear well calibrated for a harmonious and enveloping flavour before a medium-long finish.

Ideal in combination with stewed red meats, first courses based on legumes and game.
