Primitivo di Manduria DOC Collezione del Conte 2018 Villa da Filicaja

The Primitivo from the Conte di Villa da Filicaja Collection originates from the company vineyards located in the province of Brindisi in the heart of the DOC Primitivo di Manduria.

Pure Primitivo grape wine, harvested early in small boxes. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks after which it ages for 6 months in American oak barriques, so as to enhance the tannins and the structure. Further refinement in the bottle follows.

It appears in the glass of a beautiful dark ruby red with intense violet reflections. The nose gives elegant aromas of red fruits that leave room for intriguing spicy notes. It is a full-bodied wine, soft and rich. The closure ends on a vanilla and cocoa finish.

To be combined with first courses of stuffed pasta, it is excellent with seasoned cheeses.
