Description
What kind of wine is it?
Tre di Tre di Lupo Meraviglia is a red wine from Puglia, made from Primitivo, Aglianico, and Negroamaro grapes. It reveals itself as structured and concentrated, with a fruity profile and a silky tannic texture. The vinification employs the saignée method to maximize the extraction of compounds from the skins, ensuring intensity. Aging defines a mature style in which spicy notes balance the taste.
Where does it come from?
The roots of this red wine are in Puglia and find their expression in Salento. Its strong connection to Lecce emerges from the label, which features the iconic city emblem with a wolf and a holm oak, near a farmstead. This clear geographical identity shapes a wine with intense and recognizable character. The region enhances the union of these three local varieties, creating a harmonious blend where the regional identity stands out boldly.
How is it made?
Production relies on the saignée method, an ancient practice aimed at increasing phenolic extraction. After crushing Primitivo, Aglianico, and Negroamaro, the must in contact with the skins is partially separated to concentrate matter and color in the main liquid. This is followed by targeted aging in the cellar, which refines the wine and shapes its aromatic profile. The process gives consistency, resulting in a wine with a solid structural framework.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red color, a sign of its remarkable concentration. The nose offers aromas of ripe fruit and jam, crossed by pleasant sweet and spicy hints. On the palate, it is structured and full-bodied and maintains coherence with the aromatic spectrum. The taste is supported by silky tannins that seamlessly blend into the liquid, leading to a harmonious, long, and remarkably composed finish.
Food pairings
Its pronounced structure makes it a perfect partner for flavorful pasta dishes, as it stands up well to rich sauces. It is ideally complemented by braised red meats, which echo and enhance its spicy streak. The fine tannic texture perfectly accompanies any roast preparation, such as beef enriched by its cooking juices. The fruity notes pair beautifully with the intensity of more robust recipes, offering an accomplished and satisfying match.
When to serve it
This blend excels when paired with hearty and convivial meals. It smoothly accompanies intense recipes and roasted main courses, thanks to its compact sip and polished tannins. Aging has already provided it with an accessible aromatic silhouette, but to enjoy it to the fullest, it is recommended to serve in large glasses. Allowing it to breathe before serving helps open up the spicy and fruity notes, ensuring a decisive, accessible, and always rewarding experience.
