Description

The red wine XR Reserva from Marques de Riscal is produced in Spain. The winery produces wines in the denominations of Rioja, Rueda, and Castilla y León and was founded in 1858 by D. Guillermo Hurtado de Amézaga.

This wine is made exclusively from Tempranillo and Graciano grapes. The grapes are vinified in small wooden barrels. The wine is aged in American oak barrels for 24 months.

With an intense ruby red color, the wine reveals aromas of currant and blueberry, licorice and spices, with smoky and balsamic notes. The palate is powerful and fleshy, with great structure and a fresh, persistent finish.

The XR Reserva pairs well with braised and grilled meats, lamb chops, and noble poultry.
